Stallings will replace Jamie Dixon, who left the Panthers last week to take the job at TCU. Stallings was 455-283 with nine NCAA tournament appearances in this coaching tenure. Jamie Dixon chose to depart, leaving for TCU after 13 seasons as the Panthers head coach. During his time at Pitt he had two conference titles, two No.1 seeds, one conference tournament and 11 NCAA Tournament appearances. Dixon was the most successful coach in the school's history.
Jamie Dixon has been apart of the Pitt Basketball program for a long time now, but the problem is is that the Panthers are just not coming clutch when it comes down towards the end of the season. I think that it was a wise decision for the team to acquire a new coach, and we will see what Stallings has to offer!
